This time you didn't have to wait very long for the next release in this VERY POPULAR series. So here is the EIGHTEENTH release in our VERY POPULAR Picture Disc series (and number three in (The Classic '79 Mod Series...The Next Generation.) What can we say about this band that hasn't been said before? So this time and instead of Detour telling you how Great this band is, we thought we would let some of their fans do the talking! So before we let the fans have their say, a little bit of info about this release. The A-Side features a totally unreleased version of FIRST IIMPRESSIONS. This version includes keyboards and was recorded a year later than the single version. Back in 1984, the band were asked by a fairly big label to demo some of their best tracks for them. So the band booked themselves into Village Studios in Dagenham and recorded this new version along with other crowd favourites Purple & When I Think of All the Times that feature Nik Kershaw's keyboard player. First Impressions features Trevor Irving on trumpet as well on the original version. (He now plays with the Style Councillors). So there you have it.... A different class, as good now as they were back then Paul Abela Great songs and a great sound. Ian Mckinnie The three tracks on the first impressions single just says it all....pure class Richard Brumby Great musicians and a great bunch of people Carl Grisley Great vocals, great writing, great musician's, great live. Sorted Murray Edwards Impact, energy and catchy tunes! Very much looking forward to seeing them for the first time in just over a week. Ian Canty Every track a winner for me . Revival royalty. Neil Masson A back catalogue of timeless classics. Paul Mac Macnamara Best band of the revival period Mark Bailey Their original drummer’s dashing good looks and repartee Andy Orr The bands unreleased songs which was then captured on A slight detour album. Jay P Fuller First band I saw in Swindon, BR canteen, brilliant band. Lee Duffill "They Are Ace.. Simples!!" David Ship Bloody nice blokes ,always got time to chat Darren 'Flaz' Withers A tight band with brilliant songs and a superb vocal! Alan May From Dagenham Robert John Manton Small World is my favourite band because First impressions last forever and they set a very good one from the word go! Maz Weller Proper revival bend Paul Antony Green If Carlsberg made mod bands ..... Nuff said Tania Holmes FEATURES FIRST IMPRESSIONS (1984 DEMO VERSION) PURPLE WHEN I THINK OF ALL THE TIMES Currently unavailable |
