The Threads were at the forefront of the Mid 80's Mod scene along with the likes of The Prisoners, Makin’ Time, The Jetset and The Moment, and what we have here is a stunning 23 track CD only release that gathers together almost everything the band ever put down on tape including the now very collectable ‘As Yet Untitled’ LP that originally came out on the ‘Unicorn’ label.
So, what were they like? Great soulful Mod with a lashing of Hammond organ - that’s what.
This band were Mod - and proud of it! A rare commodity in those days with other bands just claiming to be ‘Mod influenced’ - or as I remember a member of a particular band openly claiming a strong dislike for the Mod crowd.
Now reformed and playing gigs again The Threads may once again prove that there is absolutely no substitute for music played with passion, power, intensity, heart and soul!
