Well the boys are back on the road.... Old London Based Mods have dusted all their old instruments off and are doing what they love once again! It's been 30 years since their last vinyl offering came out which was the brilliant "Good Lovin'".

Back in the day, they released three brilliant singles and were one of the top Mod bands on the scene with fans all over the world. Then in 1997, Detour Records released a retrospective album to honour the bands back catalogue along with another long lost Mod band from the same era, 007 which both Wood brothers were in.

Well, fast forward 30 years and the band have ventured into the studio once again and laid down 4 new tracks. Well, I say new, some are old tracks from 1985 but were never recorded and have the same formula and structure that made the band such a hit at the time. However, the new penned tracks are as good and as powerful as the older tracks...

The sleeve has been done by the talented Marty Street who most of you will know with all this artwork that he has done over the year!

Saw The Scene a couple of times back in the day and they were always a great live act. Been to see them a few more times recently since they reformed and they haven't lost anything at all from their live show. This new single is a great introduction to the "new" Scene.

The Scene were ever present on the mod scene in the 80s and I was lucky to see them many times including their "farewell" gig. Fast forward to 2014, and I was watching them again at the Alley Club 30 years after my first gig. So a new release, the first since Good Lovin' was eagerly anticipated. Its been a long wait but doesn't disappoint at all. This release is as good as any of the previous releases. 4 fantastic tracks showcase nicely what you can expect from the band if you go and see them now. Decent slabs of guitar driven power pop from Gary, with Andy's voice sounding as good if not better than on the previous releases. Russell and Drew keep the whole thing tight, and Katharine's backing vocals bring a whole new dimension to the band's sound. Stand out track for me is When the Curtain Falls, a standard in the set from the 80s but never released. Old fans like me need to buy this. New fans that missed them the first time need to buy it too. At only 200 copies, this is a CD that will sell out quickly so get your order in now. Altogether now ba-ba-ba ba ba ba ba ba....
