It was exactly 30 years ago; Edinburgh’s The Shadowland released their “Kaleidoscope” LP. Their infectious psychedelic pop melodies inspired and created the soundtrack for a generation; an underground musical phenomenon, swirling and cascading through venues, pubs and clubs...out of step with the mainstream, but compelling; The Shadowland experience is truly unique, memorable and precious.

Detour Records have worked with the band to create a must-have ultimate collection. This LP/CD package features almost every recorded work from the debut LP, rare and unissued material and includes the entire “She” LP project.

In addition to the crisp, remastered recordings, ALL copies come pressed on lovely splattered coloured vinyl. There were supposed to of been a black vinyl version but the pressing plant cocked up!

The first 250 come complete with a comprehensive full colour history/biography 4 page 12” booklet featuring dozens of memories from
cats’n’kittens there first thyme around. The LP comes with a 19 track CD and 20 track download code.

I read about this band in shindig magazine and thought it sounded right up my street. I am so glad I did as it has opened my eyes to a whole new band i didn't know about. How did this band not make more of an impression when they were going? How did they only get a 3 star review in shindig when they are head and sholders above the other bands reviewed. Great package as well which is a bonus. Really enjoyed reading about them and looking on youtube for their videos. Fun seeing what bands they influenced. I really wish I had seen them when they were going. I see lots of people asking for them to play more gigs and I would go for sure. Thank you for unearthing this for us

seen some mates were reviewing so adding in my tuppence. Brilliant, just brilliant. Its got everything. Great music, great cover and great inside printout with a history and comments from music industry figures. I've already got it but buying another one!

Another winner from the bright Spark. Power pop through garage to psych with a sprinkle of baggy. These guys helped kick off Britpop so hats off to them and this excellent anthology. Scotland never had it better

Brilliant. It has pretty much everything the shadowland officially released on it. Acts as a nice bridge between the power pop r'n'b of the second generation and the groovy goodness of groove tunnel / modus / the omega four. Don't waste your money on a pricey copy of an original kaleidoscope album when its mostly all on this. Great package all in

Just an amazing offering from a band that rode the baggy (groovy) train before helping usher in britpop while staying true to themselves and the scene. All the singles, all the live favourites and plenty of unreleased tunes as well as the often whispered about leaves and superstar. Most of the band went on to do bigger and better things but this is where it started and there isn't any better a start

This is a top notch album/cd package and surely essential to anyone who was in and around the Mod/Pyschedelia scene of the late 80's, if you dug the Madchester scene or became a Britpop devotee then this band had a feel for that as well....

This is a superb collection and absolute must have for anyone who remembers the band or who missed them first time around. They still sound as fresh and original as they did then. The price is more than fair as well.
