Paisley Archive are proud to announce the release of '1979', the highly anticipated new 38 track album from MadFish.

Four years in the making and with the working title 'The Story of Billy', 1979 takes you with a dash of punk, all the way back to the late 70's Mod Revival. The songs seen through the eyes of Billy, take you on a nostalgic journey through time to the present day.

The album Includes 7 reworked songs, including the never recorded 'Jersey' and the fan favourite 'No Girls For Billy', from Gregor and Colin's original 1979 Mod / Punk band The Head. The band were known infamously for their 1980 collectable 7" double A sided Ellie Jay single 'Nothing To Do In A Town Like Leatherhead'/'University '79'.

The album also includes 31 brand new original songs, featuring a new version of 'London' and the extended mix of 'Do You Want To Be Like Me?'

Produced by Dr. Crippen, previously of Tenpole Tudor, King Kurt and now of The Weird Things and recorded at Panther Studios in Surrey.

In the tradition of The Clash's 1979 'London Calling', this double album is available for the price of a single album. The CD's also come smartly packaged in a digipak with an 8 page booklet.

Released on 18th November, only 50 CD double albums are available through Detour.

Really love it!

A great concept album, takes you back to 1979 exactly as it says on the cover. Great to hear some Head tracks given the treatment they finally deserve. Outstanding new songs as well! My favs London and Everybody Rock n Roll plus plenty of songs to dance to! Great vibe with a definite early 80's sound.
Outstanding!

Disagree with the earlier review. A couple of fillers maybe, other than that a great set of songs! There's Mod, Punk and even Rock n Roll in amongst the 38 tracks. Lovely packaging, great value for money!

Some great songs as well as naff ones. Good job it's a double album as you probably get one decent album out of the two. Cheap price though so in the end worth a listen.
Sounds good on first listen always a good sign
