The Omega Four were a groovy Hammond organ instrumental 4 piece outfit playing all the classics from the world of KPM along with the best in Hammond featured bands since. From Booker T & The MGs via Brian Auger, through to the James Taylor Quartet and right up to Corduroy. With many of the tunes being used for popular TV programmes in the 60’s and 70’s, the band got a reputation for being a TV theme band. This was entirely unintentional but rather just an affirmation of the classic tunes the band loved.

Featuring the cream of Edinburgh musicians including former Groove Tunnel Hammond player, Rod Spark, the recordings featured here were originally intended only for the ears of prospective horn players prior to auditioning them. Luckily, events conspired to bring these recordings (warts and all along with chatting which gives an insight into the world of The Omega Four) into the public domain and allow everyone to enjoy. Many of your favourite TV themes are represented along with other classic Hammond grooves. Perhaps with a little persuasion we could get the band to come back to repeat some of their legendary and most groovy performances.

Love this!!!! Why have I just found out about this and why are they not playing every club in the country? Do yourself a favor and get this while you can. Brilliant organ instrumentals and no fillers. I love you can hear the band singing along and having fun

Another winner from rod the mod. This man reinvents himself or rather his musical style within the mod genre every few years with each offering proving to be unmissable. From guitar to Hammond in a few years this release has grooves galore and you will know each tune bar one which I suspect is an original from the band. Looking forward to their next release with baited breath and poised for dancing. Don't miss out!!!!!

What an absolutely fantastic compilation of the best in Hammond grooves. Some tunes there you can't get anywhere else and all perfect for the dancefloor. Seen some videos of the band and they can deliver while looking cool. Why this band aren't playing around the country is beyond me. Play loud, dance and reminisce!

Big fan of dance music but more 90s stuff. This is incredible though. Knew every song from tv and films when growing up so got that nostalgic buzz but loved the grooves and the sound. Nice to hear the band chatting and clearly enjoying playing together. Would make for a great gig. Hopefully see them at some point in the near future. Shall now continue listening to this on repeat
