Here is the latest release on the US division of the TWIST label that brings you this tribute album to Australian band Little Murders with their infectious brand of Mod Revival and Power Pop is just what you need - RIGHT NOW!
Little Murders have been around since 1979 and continue to provide joy to those who have made the discovery. Emerging from the Mod Revival scene in Melbourne and recording singles and EPs whenever the opportunity (and budget) presented itself, the band finally released its first studio album in 1998. Englishman Rob Griffiths is the heart and soul of the lineup (indeed, the only consistent member since forming the band) and is a songwriter capable of whipping up immensely agreeable guitar based Power Pop. That none of the band's output came within a bull's roar of the charts (independent or otherwise) is not an indicator of quality. If you like your music catchy and cool, then read on. As evidenced in the video clips that accompany these songs, the Little Murders aesthetic is equal parts mod, pop art and gorgeous 1960s girls. Throw in a good dose of Melbourne and you have got this band sussed.
